EGR valve

Featured Replies

Hi can anyone tell me I’d it very hard to replace the EGR valve on a Ford Focus cc3 09 petrol 2 litre ( convertible)

Not very hard, just a bit awkward.

It's bolted to the side of the cylinder head, above the gearbox, behind the throttle body.

Has a single coolant pipe connection so be aware of that.

Hi many thanks for your reply.

can I clamp that water hose and if so where can I get the clamp ?

You could clamp it though I'm not a fan of clamping old rubber pipes as that can damage the structure of them.  A brake hose clamp would be fine if you already have one.

Personally I'd just leave the hose connected until the very last minute and then swap it straight onto the new one as quickly as possible, shouldn't lose much coolant like that and removes the risk of damaging the hose.  Alternatively, you could pull it and plug the end quickly if you have anything suitable to plug it with.
