Ford Galaxy 2010: Side lights staying on

Featured Replies

Can anyone offer a diagnosis - The side lights (integral to front fogs, Tail lights, Cluster indicator and lights on warning chime are all still on with ignition off, key removed and locked. The Rotary light switch has no affect and the main dipped beam lights are also on continually at position 2 - engine running. I have to disconnect the battery at the moment to make the side lights go off. Which is not great. Thank you in advance.....

Has someone been playing with FORScan and activated Scandinavian Mode ?

Why would Scandinavians want their sidelights to be permanently on even with the key out? ( I can't recall if Scandinavi is in permanent darkness, or permanent daylight LOL)

They wouldn't (although they are an odd lot). but the fact that the dipped beam comes on when the ignition is on suggests that changes have been made to the vehicles lighting configuration. A simple fix would be to reinstall the vehicles "AsBuilt" files and see if that corrects the problem.

I have managed to fix this. it was an issue within the rotary light switch.

If it were just the headlights on with ign then a faulty light switch as that's the default with a switch failure.

The op has fixed it as I was typing. Lol
