Missing hood liner

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I own a Ford Focus MK3 (2014)

As you see on the attached picture I am missing the hood liner, but I wonder if there is something else goes into the holes i marked with red?
Is there a rubber seal i also need?

I wouldn't worry about it. A while back, I owned a Celica GT4 which on getting it was also missing the 'hood liner'. I worried that because of the heat generated by the engine/turbo, I would have all sorts of issues with paint blistering etc. Well, after a decade of ownership - nothing untoward happened!

As Alex has said those holes are for drainage. During the manufacturing process the whole body shell complete with doors, boot lid, and bonnet go through several different baths of chemicals and are completely submerged.

May also be used for tooling location points during the stamping of the panel and it’s assembly with the bonnet outer skin

Holes are for drainage and for manufacturing and paint processes

Thank you all for your help!
It has been very helpful, I no longer need to search for a non-existent part.
From what I understand, the hood liner is primarily used for noise reduction, although it may not be necessary, the engine is not so loud anyways.
