Another day, another problem🫣

Featured Replies

Hi everybody,

Focus was up for an MOT yesterday, went in with no lights on the dash and came out lit up like a Christmas tree. After starting it comes up with power steering malfunction, engine management, abs, skid light comes up and the speedo doesn't work. Codes are below 👇

PCM - U0121

PCM - P1934

ABS - error (won't connect)

EPS - U1900

IC - error (won't connect)

The car is a 2009 2.0 focus tdci 136

I have had the cluster out and resoldered the plug and still have all those codes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated👍

Have you tried clearing the codes? They will still be there if you haven't.

Yep fried clearing and they are still there, can't communicate with the abs, instrument cluster or power steering

Did it pass MOT or did that happen during the test?

I'd check the GEM plugs are all in tightly in case someone sat in the passenger side and kicked them accidentally.

It failed because of the lights on dash. I've check that still no change. I've also checked the plug to the abs module and the plug to the fusebox under the bonnet 🤷

Are there any multiplugs in the drivers footwell that could've been kicked in heavy boots?

ive done mine mainly i changed leds to blue but at same time just in case i ran the iron over thejoints.

ive had problems with passenger foot well plugs ive taken the connecters out and solder the wires together no problem since.

was having car go into limp mode

Problem solved, for now..

I rechecked the plug to the abs module and didn't find any breaks, pins look clean. Put it all back together and it's all sorted. I've been wiggling the cables from the abs and codes are still away so hopefully it was a bit of dirt or something that I've missed. Got some contact cleaner on the way home. Although I hate when a problem is solved by itself and not knowing what the issue was, at least I know where to look if it comes back. And hopefully behaves until at least after the mot 🤣. Greatly appreciating the help, will report back if the issue comes back👍
