Mk6 1.4 - AC Gas Quantity

Featured Replies

I have tested the AC system by pulling a vacuum with a pump and manifold gauges. It’s sealed and ready to be filled.

Checking the ford and behr hella service guides, there are two options in terms of systems, and the gas quantity varies quite a lot between them.

1.2mm condensor & 3mm condensor.

How do I find out which one I have? What do I need to measure?

TIA.

Do you not have the A/C information label still fitted to your car ?

It would tell you the capacity of the system fitted to your vehicle.

If you don't have the info, I would put the lower amount on and try the Aircon. 470 g instead of 650g

From my vague memory of that age of car, I'm sure we  gassed up the fiesta at 470g. Think the 650g of the thicker condenser was for hotter climates.

Yeah. That’s what I was planning. Just one small can of gas.

Just hope the compressor works!
