2014 1.6 TDCI very loud fan after switching off the engine

Hi, is it normal for these engines to have a very loud fan running for a good few minutes, after 30 mins driving on a hot day?

    I owned a Ford Fiesta 2013 1,5 TDCi for nine years. Occasionally the fan would stay on for about two minutes after I stopped the engine. It was doing a regen but because the car was driven mainly in town at low speed it always tried to do it in car parks. I think the car prefers to do regens when travelling at higher speed.
