MK5 2005 Fiesta 1.4 tdci keeps cutting out in reverse?

Featured Replies

Hi all!

Picked up a project Fiesta a few months a go. Got it as a non runner due to air in fuel system. Turned out the starter was also knackered. I replaced starter, fuel lines/return pipe and full service with new filters. Car starts straight up and runs OK but it cuts out and then comes back when driving and stalls when put in reverse and after releasing the clutch, no codes? I saw a similar post on here but as usual there wasn't a conclusion/remedy by the OP? I have replaced the MAF. I can't work out if it is electrical our fuel. The battery and ignition light comes on a nano second before it dies in reverse and comes on when it stumbles in forward motion? Grateful for any advice. James
