Air con always on when fan on despite light being on or off

Hi,

The title says it all, on my 1.6LX 2004, when I put the fans on, cold air comes out whether the air con light is off or on. When I switch it on, it doesn't get any colder.

What's the first port of call that I need to check?

    This doesn’t answer your question.. but... there’s no need to ever turn it off. Just change the temperature setting to a warmer one if you don’t want cold air.

    if still cold on full whack possibly thermistor or whatever its called cheap easy fix, see if theres any codes
