Mk 4 1.5 ecoboost - low oil warning light not working

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

had an issue with my mk 4 1.5 ecoboost 150bhp going into limp mode and embarrassingly turned out to be due to low oil. However, no low oil warning light ever showed up on the dash. Wondered if anyone else had had issues with the warning light not working or not triggering?  Does anyone know how low the oil has to be before it comes on?
thanks all,

Simon

that would be because:

No low oil warning light is fitted !!!

There is simply no oil level monitoring or warning.

There is only an oil pressure light which is flashing if there is intermittently no oil pressure or permanently illuminated if there is permanently no oil pressure.

Thanks 🙇🏻‍♂️

I'd be concerned about where the oil has gone if the level has dropped that far.  Can't remember the last engine I had to top up between services!

Is it leaking?  Or burning?  Or overdue a service?
