Focus CC3 - which part do I need?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have a quick question. When I put my roof down it goes down fine but I started having problems yesterday when I put it up again. It looks like a simple thing to solve but have been looking on Google and YouTube all afternoon trying to find what the name is of the part I require. I shall describe it and hopefully somebody will know. When the roof goes up the ends of a plastic panel fold inwards to allow the metal mechanism of the roof to pass through. On each end there is a mechanism with a cable which pulls to make those ends go in. One end works fine. The other end doesn't and after a look I can see it is because the metal cable that moves has frayed and is catching so to put the roof up I have to go halfway then push that shelf in myself to get it to complete. The cable itself is the same sort of stuff you get in the mechanism of automatic windows. Any idea what part I should be looking for?

Thanks in advance for any responses

Thanks for the reply 🙂 I had a look through that thread but there's nothing in there that helps. There are no sensors or anything at fault, just a frayed metal cable that winds into a small motor that pulls a shelf in to allow the bars of the roof to pass unobstructed. I'll need to replace that motor which the cable is in. The cable itself only extends about 3 inches or so from it. Just have no idea what the name of the part would be. Will try get a photo of it tomorrow. Need the roof open to do so and it's been peeing down all afternoon here so haven't been able to do that yet.
