I have this code for the APIM, “Lost communication with ECM/PCM A.”

I recently replaced my battery after having problems with it not holding charge. Using Forscan I found a long list of DTC’s related to flat battery issues. I cleared all of them but this code will not clear.  Car drives fine .

Your help is required.

Thanks.

Disconnect battery for 10 minutes, connect forscan, reset modules with forscan, delete profile, reconnect, see if it's gone

Thanks for the reply.

Do you think that it could be a software issue rather than a bad connection/damaged wire?

Do I need to disconnect both battery terminals or if only one, which one? Which modules require reset?
Sorry for all the questions but I haven’t done anything like this before and don’t want to end up with a very big paperweight!        (30 years of having company cars meant that somebody else paid the repair bills.)

Thanks.

Disconnect battery negative for 10 minutes, reconnect battery

Connect car to forscan

Go to maintenance (spanner) reset APIM, reset ACM

Clear DTCs

Disconnect forscan from car

Delete car profile in Forscan

Reconnect Forscan to car

Should work
