Passenger seat backrest shakes at idle

Featured Replies

A while ago I replaced all my engine mounts because I felt like my car was sending vibrations in the cabin at idle that weren't normal. Replacing the engine mounts didn't solve my issue.

I finally found the issue I think. It's not my car that vibrates but it's the backrest of my passenger seat. I can actually see the backrest shake at idle. It's just the passenger seat, the drivers seat is perfectly normal and doesn't shake at all. The shaking really is only at idle, as soon as I rev the car a little it's gone.

It's a 3 doors car so I maybe the backrest doesn't fully lock into position but the levers seem to work fine. Anyone experienced this or knows how to fix this? Thanks!

Grease every moving part in the seat that you can get to

I'll try that. Thanks.

Do you think it doesn't properly lock somewhere?

There's probably no grease, grease takes up the tolerances in the joints
