Brake noise

Featured Replies

Hi guys. I have a fiesta zetec 1.4 tdci 09 plate think it's a mk 6.5 or 7. Any way when I apply my brakes coasting coming up to a red traffic light or turning around a corner. I get like a whirring or groan sound of my brakes front the front. But not when I slow down quick. Any help would be great. It's going into the garage on Thursday. As they are going to strip front brakes to see if its caliper related. Thanks I advance

disks could be warped or corroded or new need pads or the caliper is sticking..

Does sound like pads agree..I would if we're mine..jet wash the pads/discs to clear all..just in case it's its build up of brake dust and llok at pads once clean

Thanks lads. Not had the car long so will give this a look at. The odd thing though it's not there all the time. Seems to be more once I have been driving for about 30 mins

Could be discs or pads or Caliper pistons..

If your handy with tools..remove pads...give the Calipers a clean and copper grease the parts where the pad move along just in case there not retracting and getting caught

Thanks Danny. It's in the garage on Thursday. The mechanic said he would strip it all down and have a look. Hopefully as you said just sliders need greased up. And I don't have to fork out for pads discs and callipers

Hi guys just a quick update. Car went to the garage. Now not had the car long. The mechanic found new pads and discs had been put on. But on passanger side had a new pad on and an old pad. He found out as 1 of the sliders would not come out so whoever had it left the old pad in and put a new one on other side. Anyway had new discs and pads put on. The mechanic had to the sliders out and they were black and dry as a nuns. Well I leave you to work out the rest of that. So all in all its all done now and no noise so far. Just have to wear pads in to the new rotors.  Thanks guys who commented. Appreciated
