U1900 Code/Engine malfunction.

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I have a 2009 Focus 1.8 Zetec S Petrol.

I have been having an issue with the engine malfunction message and when I run it through the OBD scanner it gives me the U1900 code.

The problem is very intermittent, and it always starts up again fine. It is so intermittent that I have had it crop up when the auxiliary functions are on, but the engine isn't even running.

I've checked as many basics as I can, but I honestly don't know where to start.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Whack the dash above the cluster and see if the display changes.
sounds like the common lead free solder in the the instrument cluster issue to me.

U1900 is communications issues

Suspect faulty cluster solders
