PFL St225 Central Locking wont work via key.

Featured Replies

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help before i take it to ford itself as its starting to really get on my nerves. The issue is  that i cant use either key to unlock doors/boot via button, first of all i thought it was battery but exact same on spare key, so that cant be the issue. i checked the remote signal receiver and that was badly corroded including the wiring so i  cut off excess, replaced the wiring the replaced the actual remote receiver and yet again, no difference. Ive tried programming the keys to central locking via the turn to position two so many times until i hear a sound and then i press and hold the button it doesn't confirm, so no luck there. Ive removed the Gem and no signs of water ingress so im really at a loss as its always a race against time to beat the alarm going off, all fuses are fully working too hopefully someone has had this issue and found the answer 🙂

Have you considered the possibility that both keys might need new batteries?

Exact spec of vehicle, is it a 2012????????

Year of vehicle?

Keyless start?

Keyless entry?

Remote entry?

Both key batteries are fully charged buddy and tested to ensure was sending a signal out

56 plate mk2 ford focus, not push button start or keyless entry buddy

Could be a GEM issue as you've already sorted the corroded RKE antennae issue. Have you made sure it's mounting/earthing point is clean?

Probably Water ingress in the GEM, first thing that normally goes down is RKE.

Remove the GEM and look for green fur on the terminals and staining on the board, if so, you will have to source a replacement GEM and configure and program it to your car.

PATS immobiliser runs through the cluster but remote RKE is programmed to the GEM

It’s the right age for the cluster issue, shame you have not any dtcs from the obd to help diagnose.
