Fiesta Zetec 2009 Spark Plugs.

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I haven't changed my spark plugs for about 5 years on my Zetec 1.25 petrol so they are well overdue to be changed, and I am looking for some advice on what to buy.

The last time they were changed I bought them from a well known motor factor supermarket and they recommended Bosch plugs HR8MCV+ 39 and I set the gap to 1.3, but I have recently noticed that the gap setting should be reduced to 1.00.

But what is confusing me is that the same motor factors no longer recommends that Bosch number for my car...the car as only done 59000 miles since new and seems to be running OK with those plugs giving me around 40+ mpg.

Any advice about plugs and gap settings would be useful, appreciated, and very helpful.

Thanks in advance,

James.

Thanks for your reply M8, I have gone for the cheapest option was getting good MPG so hopefully it will stay the same, not sure if I should stick to 1.3 gap setting or not!

Cheers

James.

they are all pre gapped man you do not need to change anything on them...just screw them in without any copper grease etc
