MK2.5 rear brakes

Featured Replies

So, I have looked here for an answer but I have probably missed it somewhere...
I'm looking at doing a rear disc conversion on my MK2.5, are all the rear calipers the same? I've been offered some from an ST for a great price, no point if they won't work though.

TIA

Quick edit:

It seems that the calipers are the same, but anyone know if I am correct in assuming that the caliper carriers are not the same (to allow for the bigger discs)?

Calipers are the same on all Mk2.5 except the RS.

Carriers are different on 1.8 petrol and 1.6 TDCI (estates) compared to 1.8/2.0 TDCi, 2.0 petrol and ST.

Discs are 265mm and 280mm respectively.

Thanks Tom,
Fella has offered me everything for the rear except the splash guards and much the same for the front. Haven't seen them in person yet but they're 320mm front and I assume 280 rears (from a MK2 ST225).
Hoses etc aside, they should just straight swap?

Probably worth adding that there are 18" wheels on the car from the factory (who specs those wheels but not rear discs?) so clearance won't be a problem...and I have the 1.8 petrol.

I guess it depends what the seller classes as 'everything' but yes they should be a straight swap with all the correct parts.
