Alloy damaged from loose manhole cover

It might be black wax, ask them. Waxoyl is the wax most people know but my local bodyshop use a German wax, whose name I can't remember, as he says he thinks it lasts longer. They both come in two colours, clear and black.

Cheers I’ll look into that

A good applier will inject the wax into door cavities and other hollow structural members like sills so it protects them from inside which 'underseal' does not.

I used to do it myself on older cars, though using old used engine oil thinned down with white spirit, any vent holes in the chassis or pillars I'd park the car on loads of thick cardboard, then blow the oil in until it ran out of everywhere, made a mess but it sure kills off any problems where rust might start, car would be a bit stinky for a few weeks.

I used to ride over this stuff in my motorbiking days, after it had washed-off people's cars. Not nice.

BTW this is about the oddest thread drift I've come across!

Our car/s sat on thick card for a while, not being moved until the dripping has ceased, if it's owt like the old days, oil on the roads was normally from dodgy failed seals on engines & gearboxes, it was common to see massive thick oil patches in car parks back in the 70's - 90's.....Nowadays you rarely see gunged up car parking spaces.

Unless a questionable looking transit has been parked there before hand 😂
