HELP please !!!, I'm currently in Southern Spain and can't lock the van doors, any ideas PLEASE ???. we are getting a warning on the dash stating the driver's door is unlocked, I have tried to lock it manually from inside but it just unlocks automatically, if use the key it does the same and if you use the fob it does the same but the horn sounds aswell. We were due to set off on our travels again today. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    The microswitch inside of the door latch has failed. The locking system will not allow the doors to be locked while it thinks the drivers door is open. The switch is deep inside of the door latch and is not a serviceable item. Sometimes if you flood the door latch (spray in from the door catch side) with WD40 it will fix the issue for a short while. Long term you need a new latch assembly.

    You can disable the central locking by removing Fuse 78. Then you can lock the doors manually by using the key in the door lock.

    I may be in southern Spain but don't carry any ford spares around with me. Bad enough having a mini as a hire car for 3 adults so no room for fuse even. 🤣🤣
