Cigarette lighter permanent/ignition live GEM fuse swap?

The cigarette lighter socket on my Mk2 is permanently live. This is apparently standard. On every other car I have owned, the socket has been live only with the ignition key turned on.

I saw an old post on here that claimed that there is a fuse in the GEM that can be swapped position to change the socket to it to ignition live only. Unfortunately I have been unable to find this post again. 

I have never heard of this anywhere else. If it is true, where in the GEM is it?

    It's an urban myth !!

    No such fuse on a Focus. It fact no such fuse on any UK Ford model as far as I know.

    @StephenFord fitted additional power sockets on his 2005 Focus.

    I did indeed LOL (Controlled by ignition key position)
