2013 mk3 1.0l mods for reliability

Looking for advice and any upgrades or mods to improve the reliability and preformance of a 2013 mk 3 1.0L ecoboom cheers

Also to add are there any parts from later or more heavy duty models that can be put into the 1.0 ecoboom to make it a bit more robust I've been shafted by dodgy dealers and flimsy work that's caused problems so trying to eliminate all I can while fixing up a car I enjoy!

Just make sure, once you get bill of health from current engine, that you change the oil EVERY year, at least, and use the correct oil and NEVER use flush

There were problems with coolant hoses on early Mk 3s and a recall. Should have been sorted by now, but worth a check.

The cooling system modification recommended by @JW1982 in the second post of that link would definitely improve the reliability.
