Key fobs no longer working for PushStart ignition on Galaxy

Featured Replies

I have a 2013 Ford Galaxy titanium with the Push Start ignition.

I haven't used the car for 2/3 months and after trying to start it the fobs aren't working. After initially thinking the batteries were dead in the fobs, or the car battery it appears to be more deep routed.

I've opened it manulally with the key and can start it manually by inserting the fob where ignition would normally be.

However I'm at a complete loss on how to reprogram the fobs so they will control the central locking etc. If I don't insert the fob in the ignition cover it continuay fails to recognise the jeo is in the car.

All the instructions in both the car manual and the Internet are based on a key ignition only.

Please help

Buy some good quality Energizer CR2032 batteries from a reputable supplier (not pound land 🤣).

Use a multimeter to check that the new battery is 3.30V

Fit the new battery and stand outside the vehicle, press the lock and the unlock and the keyfob should work. There are many poor quality and fake batteries around, especially Duracell.

Sounds like car was in deep sleep mode and now the main battery is probably low.

As @unofix says, only use Energizer batteries, not cheap/chinese/Ebay batteries

Fully charge or replace main battery too

I just spent a hour getting angry only to find id been putting the battery in upside down 🙂
