Fiesta oil change

Featured Replies

Hello all.

I have a fiesta 1.4 diesel.

I've just done a oil change snd the warning kerps coming up saying low oil pressure. The little oil can on the dash is showing too.

Am i right in thinking i have to reset the oil change light now i have changed the oil?

If so how do I do it please.

No the only thing you’d reset is the oil change or service indicator.

Low oil pressure means exactly that. Did you put enough in? The car is telling you there is a problem.

Ahh ok. There wasn't any lights on before i changed the oil, and the service light is not on. I have put just over three litres in.

Most likely fitted the filter incorrectly.

How could i have fitted the filter incorrectly?

There's a locator tab on the bottom.  That needs to be firmly pushed into the filter housing before putting the plastic cap back on.

Ahh ok yes there is. I will check that tomorrow.

Thank you for your help.

With an oil filter change the engine takes 3.8 litres

Perfect advice thanks Tomsfocus. Spot on with the filter incorrectly fitted. Thank you very much.
