2009 Ford Fusion driver door ajar

Featured Replies

I am working on my 2009 fusion sel. The drivers door latch failed. I order a new one and installed it. Everything works except the door ajar. I have tried everything. I am looking for a work around at this point. Has anyone had this problem? Has anyone come up with a workaround?

It's almost certain that it is the wrong door latch for your trim level / specification. There are approx 13 different door latches for a fusion of that age.

I talked to with doorman the actuator manufacturer yesterday. They cross referenced the actuator and fusion VIN number and said it is the part match for the car. They are sending me a replacement part to see if it is possibly faulty. If the new part doesn’t fix the constant door ajar I will still be looking for a work around.
