MK6 Ecoboost 1.0 diverter valve broken, need replacement

Featured Replies

Hey,

So recently i had some issues with my Fiesta and after getting it repaired by a mechanic, he told me that the diverter valve for the turbo is nearing it's limits. A few days ago it started making a noise when i accelerate and let go of the pedal. Now the mechanic could fix this for me but this will cost almost 600 euro's so i would like to do it myself. However.... The partnumber (1892131) i received from the mechanic is not available anywhere so i'm kinda stuck with where i can find a replacement. My preference would be an alternative to a stock diverter valve.

It would be great to get some help with finding a replacement!

Where are you located?

The Airtec recirc valve is a fairly common replacement in the UK.

I'm located in the Netherlands so preferebaly something within the EU but importing this would still be cheaper then going to a mechanic

There is also the option of a genuine one on eBay from Lithuania at about half your quoted cost.

Seeing as i've read online that the valve breaking is a known issue for this model, I rather would like to have something a little bit more durable.

Now i've also found this unit https://speed-equipment.eu/shop/turbosmart/blow-off-valves/ford-blow-off-valves/kompact-dual-port-vr09-ford-fiesta-1-0-ecoboost-2013-ts-0203-1065/ But now i'm wondering if only 50% of the overpressure from the turbo get's recirculated back into the system, will this create different problems for my inlet?

I'm not sure on that one.  We have seen issues with full BOV on these, but 50/50 might be ok.

If you don't want the standard Ford one as a replacement I would go for the Airtec one that Tom has mentioned.

Of all the parts that failed with my 2012 1.0 ecoboom the recirc valve wasn't one of them. In fact it was in such good condition I sold it on ebay (didn't need it as I fitted a replacement turbo assembly).
