Good Afternoon,

Please can anyone help me find a copy of the instruction manual for the factory stereo/tape player that would have been in a 1991 Fiesta 1.1 popular plus?  

We have a J reg fiesta, with the original factory stereo, but no manual or paperwork.  The head unit has lost power at some point, so the keycode needs to be re-entered.  We are having some trouble working out how to do this to get it working again.

Having a copy of the manual would be very useful, or if not any help or general advise would be greatly appreciated.

Could you post an image of the unit ?

I do have a 1991 Audio System Operating Guide, but not for a Fiesta, and it states:

If you do not have the key code - after three failed attempts, it will lock for 30 minutes, after ten failed, it will be "permanently inoperative".

If you remove the radio - a previous owner may have written the code on the unit, but unlikely.  Ford dealers were able to supply the codes, but that was many years ago.

When you switch on the unit, dashes or "CODE" will flash in the display, and by repeatedly pressing the individual preset buttons in turn, enter the code.  Three digit code, press button 4, four digit code, press "Select" and if all correct, pump up the volume!

 

There are various sites if you search online that can come up with a code from the serial number of the unit, either paid or foc if you are prepared to wait, typically 24 hours. Never needed to try it, so can't recommend one from experience - I'm sure I've seen mention on here of success, though.
