2016 Galaxy Ford Sync 2 question

Featured Replies

Me and my mate bought the same cars and same year from the same garage (ex MOD)

Now my mate can get Google maps on his stereo but I can't, not sure if his is sync 2 or 3 yet we are going to check next week.

My question is should I be able to do this with mine. Is sync 2 upgradable to get this to work.

I have been on the ford site and put my chassis number in but it tells me my system has the most recent software now.

Well for anyone wondering the answer to this question its NO you cant update from sync 2 to sync 3.

Yesterday I enabled sync 2 to use the sd card sat nav using forscan and the png way. The top right screen went from saying information to sat nav insert card so looks like its been a success but Im waiting on the sd card to turn up which hopefully will be Monday.

The jobs not difficult you just need to take your time and make the correct changes.

I will let you know how it all went.

Next thing is going to be cruise control, my mate has just bought a steering wheel so we are gonna change it over and hopefully alter the software to enable it.

Again I will let you know how that goes and if I csan help anyone I most certainly will although I am no expert

Morning,

Is it just Google Maps specifically you can't get to work on yours or does no Android Auto at all work? Do the other apps provided by your phone work like Spotify/Amazon Music etc? Does your phone host Android Auto successfully in your friends car?

@Grisleigh gave some really good guidance on the steps for enabling cruise control in the thread below from a wee while back, that might be helpful.

All the best,

Sandy

Hi thanks for the reply, no apps worked on my stereo with it being sync 2 they did work on my mates car because it is sync 3.

I enabled it the other day using forscan and the png flash, I think that's what it was called. I bought the latest map SD card for £15.50 and all worked, I was so pleased with myself 😄

We are going to attempt the cruise control tonight on my mates car using Grisleigh's settings. Touch wood it all goes to plan
