Passenger Airbag Notification

Featured Replies

Just a quick question, just under the vents on my Fiesta ST 3 Mk8 it has a 'Passenger Airbag On' Light, and a 'Passenger Airbag Off' Light. When I start the car they both light up, and then the 'Off' one goes off, and the 'on' one stays on.

Is this just the car doing a self check?

Many thanks

Just as a side note I do suffer with OCD so these sort of things tend to trigger me, and getting clarification is quite important. Sorry for the inconvenience.

That is the correct operation of the passenger airbag lights. 👍

Personally I find the "ON" light to be very annoying at night and so have mine permanently covered over with black electricians tape.

Thankyou, so I presume yours also behaves the same?

European law says that's how they all have to operate now.

Sorry, I meant in relation to the car doing a 'self check' that they both initially light and then the 'on' one stays on. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, the system does a self check and both lights come on to prove the LED is working.
