Factory xenon headlamps - worth upgrading bulbs?

New S Max in our household, with the D1S xenon bulbs as the dipped beam. Wondering if it’s worth upgrading them, most of our driving is on unlit country lanes, often in poor weather. 
 

I’ve always upgraded my halogens (plonked Osram Night Breaker Laser in our Galaxy, then Night Breaker 200 when they needed replacing) and enjoyed the better light from them. 
 

Will there be an advantage with the S Max headlamps too? It’s a few quid for a pair of decent D1S bulbs, so gotta be worthwhile… I’ll be doing the H1 high beams as well.
