Rear washer jet 7 Fiesta

Featured Replies

My rear washer jet won't spray. I can hear the motor whine so it isn't that. The front ones work fine. How do I find what is wrong?. I tried clearing the jet with a paper clip but seems nothing stuck in it.  Is it the high brake light I remove?

Remove the high brake light, and disconnect the washer pipe from the nozzle and test to see if any water comes out the pipe.

If there is no water then the likely problem is the little non-return valve has stuck. I believe it is located in the head lining about 200mm back from the tailgate opening.

No water from pipe. How do I get to non-return valve. Also is there a second fuse for the rear washer?

There is no fuse for the screen wash pump, it is controlled by the GEM. It is the same pump does both the front and back windows. You will need to pull the head lining down at the back of the car to be able to reach the non-return valve.

Will I be able to do that without completely removing the lining?

Yes, you only need to pull down the back section of the head lining about 200mm. Just enough to see the non-return valve and get your hand in.

Ok thanks a lot for your help. I never bothered with it but had to replace front wiper so decided to replace back one too.

Where exactly do I find it? do you have a picture of where it’s located to make it easier. Is it above the metal or stuck to the roof lining?
