2006 Ford Fiesta Fault

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have a Ford Fiesta 2006 model and have been having issues with it lately. The RPMs are around 2300 at idle! I have replaced the air filter and the oxygen sensor and still nothing. I have noticed today a split in one of the hose's, I am just trying to find out what hose it is or the name of it to order and replace. It looks around 15-20mm hose. I will attach pictures if it helps but they are not the best.

Thank you in advanced.

I forgot to mention that I have been looking for an engine diagram but unsuccessful for this year of car. The error code is P061B - internal control module torque calculation performance.

Here are the pictures. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think that's the crank breather pipe.

So I’ve fitted the new breather pipe on the fiesta but now when I start it up the RPM just drops and then cuts the car out! Any ideas. Would the alternator do this or could it be the mass air flow censor as the code showing on the ODB is P0161b “Internal control module torque calculation performance”. I have changed the filter, oxygen sensor and now the crank breathing pipe (which had a tear in it). I’m at a complete loss @TomsFocus any help from anyone is appreciated. Thank you

The engine ECU will be confused by the lack of air now after trying to adapt to all the extra air from the split pipe.  I would recommend disconnecting the battery for half an hour.  Then do a throttle body calibration after reconnecting.

If that doesn't work, you can try to clean the MAP sensor carefully as that may be dirty from the unfiltered engine bay air being sucked in through the split pipe.  It is possible to cause more damage to a MAP by trying to clean it so I would leave that as the last resort.
