Rear passenger door won't open after door change

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've recently had to change my rear passenger door on my 2015 SMax. Problem now is that when I lock the car with the key fob, this new door doesn't open from the outside, only from the inside. Once opened, it can close and open fine, but just not after the car has been locked. Other electrics seem fine - e.g. windows on the new door. When I press unlock, the door sounds like it's unlocking. Strange one!

Any thoughts? do I need to somehow tell the key fob that we've a new door to unlock or something??

Any help would be most appreciated!

Edit - Sorry, misread.

What happens if you lock/unlock the car using the actual blade key in the drivers door (not the remote fob)

When you replaced the door did you transfer over all of the wiring and controls from the original door ?

There are approximately 13 different wiring / control circuits for the doors so unless your replacement is 100% electrically the same chances are it won't work.
