Cluster and radio delayed on ignition switch pos II

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have problem with my ford fusion 1.4 tdci 2009, as the title says, cluster and radio turning on are delayed when I switch the key to position II aproximately 15 sec.
Somewhere I read that the ignition switch is the problem itself, and in my cause it could be, cause it is loose.

Does anyone else had this problem and can confirm?

I've just fixed it, switch the 3A fuse with another one on the box and it's all good now. It was F44 Radio & diagnostic conector (Terminal 75)

Guys I messed up something really bad. When I changed the fuses I put the broken one on the battery charger 3A, anyway I replaced with a new one. I've changed also some other fuses with appropiate amps, car was cranking fine and starting fine, but from this morning it wont start. I read that probably the starter gone bad, the battery or the alternator, and also my speedo needle is below 10, like it isn't on its idle position. Can't make gauge sweep test, the car is like losing power when i turn the key on pos II. Now it's clinking sound when i turn the key.
Wtf I've done to my car?

As you suggested earlier, sounds like the ignition switch is bad.

Maybe, I checked the battery with meter it shows 11.5 V on indle, and drops to 7.5 V on ignition, but it's not cranking, it's clicking sound. I don't know whether should I go and buy new battery or find a mechanic to inspect the alternator or the starter or the ignition switch. Everything in the car works fine the radio the cluster light, but when i turn the key to ignite, the cluster and the radio starts flashing and I got cliking sound and sound of grinding like the one when you make gauge sweep. Also the cluster and the radio dimmed for a while when I turn the key to pos II.

Should I change my battery or is the alternator in question?

The first one in this link with cluster and radio flashing

Your battery is totally flat. I'm not surprised that it's not cranking.

You either need to charge the battery for at least 12 hours OR you need a new battery.
