Ford Focus MKS3 (2013) - Water accumulating in Footwell area

Featured Replies

All,

Over the last year im experience water buildup in the drivers side footwell area, under the carpet.  it mainly seems to happen after its been raining.  But weirdly not all the time. So must be how the rain hits the car

I am having to sponge out the water and dry the soft foam padding below the carpet.

Any help or direction would be helpful.

Probably no door seals fitted, they all fell off

Yes I know they did. The seal fell off my drivers door on the Mk4

Can't understand why the door seals are so utterly crapenzee. Never had that with BL cars back in the day and it's unheard of with Lexus cars.

My Mk3.5 had the whole seal missing on the passenger side and on the drivers side the repair the vendor did failed. I've made a permanent repair.

There's nothing actually up with the seals, it's the fact that they don't spirit wipe the paint, before they apply the seal and that the seal is split, not one piece

So, what's the best method of fixing the seal back on?

I've used 3M double sided tape and that doesn't last long, despite thoroughly cleaning the paint surface, before applying in warm weather.

Thanks
