The front n/s brake on my 2008 Ford Fusion is sticking on,,I’ve pushed the piston back, cleaned and greased the 2 slide bolts, and all around the pad mounts..the calliper slides great,,but the brakes are still sticking on,,if car left stood for a while they do not stick, but start driving the problem is there.

how much is left on the pads and is there a lot of wear / run out on the discs ?

Although i never had this problem on my fusion, i did have the problem on my vauxhall astra mk4.

I found the pads and disks were nearly at the end of their life, i replaced these - cleaned caliper slide bolts with scotchbrite, regreased with millers red rubber - cleaned caliper piston seal etc and all was good till 3k miles later and the caliper piston seized whilst braking.

Limped home with many stops, replaced the caliper a couple of days later and all been well since.

I presume my piston was corroded under the seal and eventually seized after pushing back in.

Wasn't worth me using a caliper repair kit and a new caliper didn't cost much more.

Another thing to check is brake fluid as the fords should be replaced annually i believe.

After those points i would then look at master cylinder, and kinked or damaged brake hose / pipe etc.

I have had new (recon) calipers on my old (proper) Puma, and on my 2007 Fiesta.  Once one starts sticking, it does not seem long before the second comes out in Sympathy !!
