Focus randomly has more torque with engine light flashing

Featured Replies

My 2012 Ford Focus mk3 1.6 zetec has engine light on with the whole car vibrating if idle for long, whine on motorways random accelerations happen and engine light flashing during these accelerations. I have changed spark plugs, 1 injector, ignition coil with cables. If anyone knows about this problem and has a solution help would be appreciated.

You need to get diagnostic codes read, otherwise you'll just be throwing money at it in the hope of stumbling on the cause.

A diagnosis by a garage will probably cost upwards of £80 and unless it's a Ford garage their equipment probably won't be able to access all the codes. Most of us use the Forscan software which is a free download for Windows on a laptop or a small charge for a smartphone app. The Windows version will need a suitable cable and the smartphone a dongle which plug into the OBD port. @unofix will hopefully. be along shortly with full details.

@unofix may be busy LOL Here's what he'll likely say...

Indeed they are. I'm doing the work at cost (in fact I suspect I'm actually making a loss). They are a young couple with a new baby and money is tight (as it is for many of us).

Already been to a garage multiple times and everyone gave different answers, my only option is to change the oxygen sensors as I have multiple codes saying that system too lean and system too rich, both Bank 1
