Mk2 Facelift Model -2008 Electric Window Regulator Removal

Featured Replies

Hi I’ve been searching for a video or guide on how to remove the FRONT Drivers Side Mk2.5 facelift model electric window regulator?

Had a good search online but can’t seem to find one??

It has the large silver tray made by Brose behind the interior door skin trim where the electric motor is mounted in the centre

Rather than that thin plastic skin I’ve seen in videos on some models to protect from water ingress.

Thanks

Just had a quick look on Youtube and can't find any myself either which is odd considering how common they are.  Most of the videos are American unfortunately, their 2008 Focus is based on the Mk1.

Assuming you've already got the first plastic cover off...  All you need to do now is lower the window so the regulator nuts line up with two small foam covers on the metal panel.  One next to the motor, the other at the far end of the panel.  Then you can unbolt the nuts (or it may be plastic clips on those, memory is fading!) through the holes behind the foam covers.  Then pull the window all the back up and tape it to the top of the door securely.  Then you can unbolt the metal panel and pull it away from the door.

Thank you @TomsFocus @Grisleigh

Also managed to download a PDF of a Haynes manual which goes into a bit more detail.

Those plastic rivets are a pain to reinstall but think I’ve got everything I need.
