tyre monitor not accessible.

Featured Replies

I have just purchased a 2023 Focus ST Line and there is no access to the tyre monitoring system. On  the menu there is no information section to access the tyre data or oil life data. It has sync 4 but nothing in there relating to it. So what happens when the light comes on? How do you extinguish it? Anybody else had this problem with missing things?

No.

All the information is in the Ford owners handbook pages 400 - 403

Depending on which screen you have,  4.2" or 12.3" there are different ways of viewing the system.

All the instructions in the handbook have been followed to the letter. The point being when you use the steering wheel controls for the menu in the speedo cubicle nothing is there for the tyre monitor. It does not bring up the information character to access the monitor. All I have got is digital speedo, fuel economy, eco coach and calm screen, nothing else. Anyone else any ideas apart from visiting the dealer.

It would sound in that case you have a software issue which will require a Ford dealer to update.

Any thoughts on this problem @iantt ??

Nothing springs to mind. Disconnect the battery for a short while and if that doesn't fix it, trip to dealer under warranty.

Looks as if UNOFIX may be right, a software issue. Will have to visit the dealer. Thanks to everybody.

In the menu for the speedo cubicle there may be a settings section where you can choose which items appear in the list.
The previous owner may have unticked the stuff that he wasn't interested in seeing.

Hi on my Active X I think with the vehicle stationery I used the menu button on the steering selected settings then display settings (or something similar) and then select what screens I want it to display

DO NOT always take for granted what the handbook says. On a 2023 Focus it is completely different to what the manual states.

You have to enter the calm screen and the select tyre monitor and oil life. Handbook totally wrong. Anyone else had this issue?

That doesn't sound very calming!

On a 2023 Focus, and maybe later models, if you are trying to find the tyre monitor and oil life  DO NOT follow what it states in the handbook. It does not matter whether you have the 4.2 or the 12.3 screen they are both wrong!! When you press the menu button on the steering wheel you will be faced with four options: digital speedo, fuel economy, eco coach and calm screen. No information icon or settings icon like you would expect, and as per the manual.

What you have to do is select the calm screen then move the "ok" button up or down and you will gain access to the tyre monitor, oil life, trip computer screen and auto stop/start. Hope this helps owners who are thinking of buying a late Focus.

Maybe Ford should be notified of this amendment.
