This exact question was just asked a few days ago, but on doing a search, I can't find it. Apparently this forum has never got a query on Air Con 🤣

From memory, one suggestion was that there wasn't enough A/C gas in the system to allow full operation, but if I find it, I'll repost here too...

As we all know the FOC search system is at best "Poor" and at worst it's "XXXX"  but recently I have discovered it totally ignores any 3 letter word or less in a search request.

So the problem you were having is that both 'Air' and 'Con' are only 3 letters each so the search system just searches for nothing !!!

Try it yourself and just search for the word "gas" as the Americans like to call petrol and see how many results you get 👍

So a search for "hot" = Zero, but a search for "cold" = 12,355 🤣

That's really weird.  I use another forum on the same platform but 3 letter searches still work on that one!

Hi there

I’ve got the exact same thing with my Focus. Had it re-gassed at the weekend and still only one side working. It’s going back to the garage under warranty on Wednesday to have a temperature blend door actuator fitted. I’ve been told it’s most often the drivers side that fails. Hope that helps

Make sure you post back if that cures the issue...

Will do 👍🏻

That's carrying political correctness much too far.

You can't search for either of them words 🤣

Well that was an epic fail on the trip to the garage to supposedly get the air con fixed. They claim not to be able to tell that there is a problem at all…just wondering if it would be more “apparent “ after the 3 month warranty has expired!

Meanwhile I’m left with a car blowing far from cold air on the drivers side 😢

Now, how does that work when there is no chilled air from the drivers side? Did they use high tech equipment, like a thermometer??

I’ve got no idea what they used…if anything.

Im sadly losing faith very quickly as I had already been in last week for a knocking noise on the front which they said they couldn’t hear.
Fast forward to this week and the car ends up having a wishbone, track rod end on the side that there “wasn’t” a noise 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm sorry, I must be a b*stard! I would not have left being told the A/.C was just fine when it is clearly broken. But then I've always been assertive to the extent of suddenly losing employment in the past 🤣

🤣

I clearly need to work on my resting b**** face lol

I’ve got the same problem! Please post back here if you find the solution 🙏

It probably will be low gas in the OP's case, as most are.

I'd still recommend it taking it to a different AC garage and having the gas level checked.

If you want to change the blend door actuator yourself, it can be reached up from underneath near the clutch pedal.  Cheap and easy to buy used on ebay.

It’s just been re-gassed. Do you happen to know if there are one or two blend door actuators if you have dual climate control?

I can still only get it cold if I set it to Lo. Can’t seem to get it cold using dual climate on any setting. Still blows out in random places other than where it’s set to come out of 🤦🏻‍♀️ I just need to get the garage to sort it out under warranty somehow

Any idiot proof guides on how to locate and change the blend door actuator would be very appreciated 🙏

You're very trusting of the regas tech to have done the job properly.  I'm far more sceptical.

There are 4 different doors (flaps) on the dual zone climate, each with their own actuator.  Fortunately the actuators are all the same.   Part number 1786200.  They're literally just screwed to the side of the box.  Unscrew the old one, screw in the new one.  Plenty on ebay from just £10.  1786200 for sale | eBay

Some are for temperature blend.  Others are for direction.  I suspect it's the lower ones that are for temp as they have blue plugs - the other things with blue tops are temperature sensors, so that would make logical sense at least.

Thank you @TomsFocus. Any idea how difficult they are to locate? Do you know of a video showing how to get to it? Really appreciate your help 🙂

Did the pictures load in the post above?  That large box takes up the whole middle of the car behind the radio etc.  If you get your head in the drivers footwell and look up then you should see those silver pipes to help locate the blue plug of the actuator above them.

Cleaned the cabin temperature sensor out this evening that is under the steering wheel. The fan now spins and the air appears to be cooler 🤞🏻🙏. The sensor was pretty grotty.

Thank you to everyone that commented 👍🏻
