Mk2 - Driveshaft Removal - Transmission Oil Loss?

Featured Replies

Hi, can anyone advise how much oil will be lost when changing the driveshaft?

Should I have a 1 litre bottle of fresh 75W-90 (to Ford Spec: WSD-M2C200-C) ready at hand to replenish the lost oil or will I need more?

OR alternatively can you replace the driveshaft with minimal oil loss if you jack it up high enough on one side so the car is higher one side so the gearbox oil flows to the other side?

Not that much I would imagine

Thanks @DaveT70, so not enough to warrant topping it up then?

I think it'll still be enough to need topping up.  Probably about half a litre but obviously does depend on how high you can jack that side up safely.
