Ford Fiesta Mk8 2019 Full Lock Clicking Noises

Featured Replies

Hi, my car makes a clicking noise when on full lock and moving the car forward and back slowly. Can be heard inside and outside. I have a video but appears there is no option to upload it.

The only work done on the car is new tyres from Just Tyres in Nov 2023 and brake fluid change from Ford in Dec 2023. Car started making hissing noise when on full lock and moving in March / April 2024. But then started making hissing noise and clicking on full lock and moving.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Assuming the clicking noise is from the front, and is it on both Left and Right Full lock, it could be a cv joint. Is it coming from just one side ?  But the hissing might be power steering - fluid level ok ?

Videos can't be uploaded directly.  They need to be uploaded to a hosting site such as YouTube, and then linked across to here.

Mk8 Fiesta uses electric PAS so there's no fluid to check on these.  Was the wheel alignment done after the tyre change?  It is possible the alignment is now wrong, and the rack doesn't 'know' when it's at full lock, so it keeps trying to push the rack further than it should.

@Paulkp @TomsFocus Thank you for the replies. A garage had a look at it this morning and confirmed the CV boots were bone dry so they  greased them up with silicone and the noise has gone. Also the hissing noise on the power steering has disappeared. The garage explained they noticed my mileage is low which is the likely cause as the car just sits there and the rubber is more likely to perish.
