Fiesta 1.25 2006 ABS - Can i split the abs pump and module?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Got a dead abs pump in my fiesta, want to avoid coding issues, can i buy a pump/module with the same code, split them and replace just the pump/manifold side of my abs unit?

Thanks

Personally I'd strongly advise against doing that. I understand your reason for wanting to do it but there are special regulations in place concerning the repair of ABS pumps, and a DIY job could end up with your insurance being void, and worse the failure of the unit at a critical time.

There are about 3 or 4 specialist companies who can service and repair your ABS pump and then you will not have any coding issues.

This company may be able to help: https://www.ecutesting.com/common-faults/ford/

For anyone coming across this post later, yes you can split the pump and module, it’s super easy, 3 torx screws and they pull away from each other. The pump and manifold are sealed from each other so there’s no messiness or anything. You just need to make sure the pump on your replacement unit has the same part number - the one that goes 4S61-2M110, nothing else rlly matters, I think the other variant is 2S61-2M110. We actually tried the replacement module and it worked without programming and the part number was slightly different so you might not even need to do this, but your milage may vary.
