Are the repair kits any good ?

I have used them on more than one occasion in the past and the results were as good as a professional repair., though as others have said your Insurance may be able to fix it cheaper or for nothing.

cheers guys the repairers state they use a vaccumn to get moisture out, i would have thought that as the Mk2 has a heated screen turning this on would remove any moisture some kits can be got for less than a tenner. Am off to read the small print on my policy [fully comp]

£25.00 excess on repair, but then it has to be stated on any renewal that youve had a claim or it voids any policy.

That's really odd, my own policy doesn't need it reported at all as a 'claim'. Wonder is it because it's, 'free', and you have to pay an excess?

I know you've all been sitting on the edge of your seats waiting for a conclusion to this thread LOL So, here it is. I just bought a new toaster from, 'George at Asda'. It's brilliant! Not only does it properly fit my normal slice of bread, but also has the 'high lift' function allowing safe retrieval of a smaller slice of bread. All for the princely sum of £15!

Appears they do design good toasters these days, but they just don't shout about it...

So was the Model T Ford - never did Ford any harm... 🤣

(You can also get it in white LOL)

Tbf mine's largely stainless steel and shows every single splash from washing up 2ft away.

I did see a see-through one on Taskmaster and considered one of those.  But I'm sure that'll show all the splashes, plus all the crumbs inside lol.

I think the 3D 'diamond' shaped shell on this toaster may mask stains more as opposed to a flat plain surface.

Good point.  Although I wonder if that will catch more falling dust than a flat front.  You'll have to let us know after a month!

At least you'd be able to see if the toast was burning. 😠

Just wanting to check how the new toaster is doing ?

I'm tired of only having three quarters of the bread toasted and need something that will do a whole slice.

PS, see they are now £18 🙄

What is all this nonsense about toasters. I bought a cheapie in Asda and it works just fine. Two slices, toasts perfectly, any thickness. Some peeps just like to moan 😀

Antunes Vertical Contact Toaster VCT-1000

We were thinking of one of these for my family, currently reduced by £540.70.  Unfortunately with one Coeliac in the family we will need two, the extra one for Gluten Free Toast, but we will save £1081.40

I was just thinking recently, I've never eaten as much toast! LOL 7 settings, No.4 is just perfect for me and yes, it toasts the full slice, and even if it didn't, it's big enough to put the bread in horizontally which also toasts the whole thing! 🤣 It's worth even full price at £18... (Oh, just noticed the white one is now £14...)

Yep, read back a couple of posts, it's the Asda one that actually works, thickness was never an issue! My original 'moan' was perfectly valid 😂

Do any of you use Cathedral City sliced cheese?  They've gone back to square slices instead of the rectangular ones.  So now there's only 3/4s cheese coverage to a slice of bread!

Maybe they've just downsized from a 'catherdral', to a standard, 'church' 😂

What's a catherdral? 😁

its a HUUUUGE catheter
