Ford fiesta 1.0L ecoboost BCM / ECM issue

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 1.0L 2013 ECOBOOST  and i have an issue that may be the BCM /or the ECM

Ok

If i use a genuine crank sensor on the car , It wont run correctly its like it fires intermittently on the 3 cylinders .

If i use a none genuine crank sensor it starts and runs fine but power steering (electric) stops working and brings up codes  miscommunication crank sensor A out of required specification / ecm/bcm /psm mis communication.

I have changed the engine wiring loom

I have tried to use Bosh crank sensor , Ford crank sensor , and Delphe , Delphe is the only crank sensor that will allow the engine to run .

I have checked all cabling to the power steering( electric) from the ECM/ECU and all bells out ok .

I have replaced the power steering (electric ) and this has still not cured the problem

I now have bought a ECM/ECU/ BCM  AND Ignition lock and key from a breakers .

Question :

Do i need to some how relearn the steering PSM TO MATCH THE REPLACEMENT parts

Many thanks  Mike

What code reader are you using, and what DTC's are you getting ?

  • Author

Hi using a  TOPDON ARTIDIAG PRO

Codes are :

P0339:2F-2F     Crankshaft Position A Circuit Intermittent

P0335:02-24    Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit

U0401:00-0A  Data Recived from ECM/PCM A invalid

U0401:00-28   Data Recived from ECM/PCM A invalid

This is with the Delphe(None original Ford) crank sensor that allows the car to run  and drive except for letting the power steering to work correctly

I think you are missing the Ford specific DTC's. There should be more information than just those codes. You really need to use FORScan and a vLinker FS connecting cable.
