1.0 EcoBoost Cam Belt (2015 Fiesta)

Featured Replies

Hi all. I've just bought a 2015 Fiesta Zetec S (1.0 EcoBoost) and it's an absolute pleasure to drive. Just had a quick question regarding its cam belt having read various breakdown stories. It's due a new belt next year due to its age but it has only done 14800 miles. Should I stick to the 10 year guideline or does the low mileage give me a while longer? Best wishes.

Low mileage actually gives you less time, I wouldn't wait till next year.

That car must have spent a lot of time with a cold engine, which accelerates degredation.

Has it had annual oil changes?

It's just had an MOT, not sure about an oil change. Also read today to ensure genuine Ford approved 5w-20 oil is used. Would an oil change help at this point? Thanks for the heads up btw 👍

No, but getting the wet belts changed now while you still have a working engine would.

Seconded.

Always use the correct oil, change every 12 months, regardless of mileage and never use Flush
