Blower motor not working/intermitant working

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Help needed on a 2009 1.2 fiesta style plus with air conditioning.

Blower motor seems to have stopped working or when it does work it's for less than a minute and thats usually after the kick panel next to the cabin filter is kicked but this does not always work. It dosn't work on any speed setting.

I'm thinking it's the blower motor resistor (thats what the haynes manual calles it). Would it be worth getting a used item to test if that's it, or simply geting a new one.

Has anyone else had a similar issue and what was needed to sort it

Had mine go on my 2009 fiesta.

Sometimes different speeds stop working Sometimes stops altogether..

Cheap on ebay...10 to 15 pound I think

Take passanger side of console off and it's 2 x tork screws and pulls out..unplug then refit is in reverse

121610156286

Search for this number on ebay and check if it's the same as you have..

Don't buy a second hand as they are cheap

Update.

managed to get a used one (new one on order from ebay), didn't work so went back to the breakers to exchange and after a couple mins of supervised fiddling and a hit to the dash just to the drivers side and it working again they diagnosed a faulty blower motor and suprise suprise the part I bought was ok (allegedly).

Has anyone on here changed there blower motor? I have found a youtube video on a uk spec' car and apparantly it requires you having to remove the clutch pedal and the part of the steering shaft, just to get the space to remove the old unit and reinstall the new unit. If I were to get a used unit, any ideas on how much would a garage charge to replace it and how much would it be, if the garage sourced the part?
