Engine rattling sound - Ford Fusion 2009 1.6L

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Today a rattling / ticking noise has suddenly started in the engine of my 2009 Automatic Ford Fusion Zetec. The noise is when driving or reversing.

Does anyone know of any common reasons for such noises?

I’m not really sure what other information I can provide as it’s hard to describe a rattling noise on a forum.

thanks

Andy

What mileage has it done?

When did it last have an oil change ?

Hi sorry for late reply,

76k, just had it serviced a month ago so oil would have been changed then.

thanks!

could be lots of things belt tensioner lack of oil  you would need to give a little more info. is it always there, dose it happen when hot or cold at idle or high revs, is it coming from the engine or gearbox
