Updating to Sync 4.0

Hi all

My Focus 1.5 ST Line (on a 66 plate) is currently running Sync 3.4.  From the UK Ford website Sync 4.0 is available.  I am registered with them and through my VIN number the 4.0 is available.  I have downloaded (followed instructions correctly) to a formatted USB drive but error message on car screen says Sync 4.0 is not compatible with my current car Sync software.  I have tried via WiFi - successfully connected to my home WiFi (car parked on my drive) but still after the update car settings/software is still showing Sync 3.4.

Any ideas please?

    You can not update from Sync3.4 to Sync4, you require different hardware.
