Indirect tpms sensor

Featured Replies

⁸I have a 2013 Focus titanium x.Long story short.Since having a rear new tyre and re-sealing both front tyres. My ABS,TRACTION CONTROL and TYRE PRESSURE lights are on.Tried resetting it to no avail.Took it back to the tyre depot. They hooked up to it and said they couldn't reset it and didn't know which sensor it was. They said that the sensor wasn't in the tyre. Where are these sensors cause my front is discs and rear is drum.Any advise would be greatly appreciated before taking it to a garage.

The ABS sensors are in the back of the hub for both drums & discs.  You should see the electrical wire going to each one.

Many thanks. Do they work as indirect tpms as well?

Yes.  Although that's a slightly misleading name.  They don't really work as TPMS due to limited accuracy.  They can only warn the driver of a flat tyre, rather than any small change in pressure.  Used to be called DDS (Deflation Detection System) on the Mk2 Focus.
