Main Beam stuck

Featured Replies

I've just borrowed my Dad's '07 Fiesta, which he rarely uses' and thought I would give it a quick check over.

With headlights on Main Beam stays on. The stalk won't push 'away' like on my Mondeo, pulling makes no difference. With lights off I can pull the stalk for flash and that works fine.

Any clues ?

Sounds like a faulty stalk.  You could try disassembling it to check for damage and clean it up.  Or just replace with a used part.

Before getting your hands dirty, try a spray of your favourite lubricant into the base of the stalk. If it's been sitting a while, and is rarely used, you never know, worth a squirt!

Good idea. Never hurts to give a squirt.

Well there you go. Liberal dose of WD and a wiggle , it now working again.

Guess I will have to give it a proper clean in the future but will do for now.
